Meet the teamHamish Lamb – Managing DirectorX-Site was formed in 1999, mainly around the Regional and National Fieldays, and these Field Days still continue to be our core focus for around 5 months of the year, the agriculture industry providing a majority of our clientele. However, we are now more diverse than most of our competitors, and with some strategic working partnerships have the ability to leap into sectors of the event industry miles apart, all with the same successful goal. X-Site now participates in and around many events throughout New Zealand, varying from motorsport to conferencing, from Expos to Speedshows, and from product launches to Christmas functions. It was through X-Site and our involvement with many events around New Zealand that we began working with Cairnwood Hire, and finally ending up purchasing that business in 2010. One of the more favourite events is the V8 Supercars event in Hamilton. The city transforms into petrol head heaven, the buzz around town is enthralling and enthusiastic, the energy of participants and spectators alike combines to create a very special atmosphere that few events can match. This event brings people from all walks of life together, and to be a part of one of New Zealand’s largest annual events is both rewarding and fun. Born and raised in Hamilton, and now residing in rural Waikato, my hobbies include golf (which I’m not very good at) and pretty much any sport that involves a kiwi team or individual. My partner Kim and I also enjoy entertaining and cooking. My favourite place on earth is pretty much anywhere I can relax with a good book and ice cold G&T, or on a golf course. And my goals are to grow all of our businesses, to continue to live the lifestyle we currently enjoy, and to reduce my handicap. David 0tto - General Manager, Cairnwood Hire Hi, I’m David. I have 22 years experience in the marquee and party hire, sales and service industry. I am fortunate to be working as general manager for a vibrant and dynamic company such as Cairnwood, in a field that I know well and love. I have held several roles within the industry over the years ranging from hands on Operations manager to Branch manager, Sales manager and Area manager giving me a wide and important understanding of all aspects of the industry.Every event is different, with its own unique challenges and opportunities; every customer is different with their own individual ideas and requirements. The highlight of my job is being able to use my knowledge and expertise to help our customers achieve the event experience they desire, with the smallest amount of effort. Witnessing their satisfaction when it all comes together isn’t bad either. I was born and raised in Tauranga in the Bay of Plenty, and moved to Hamilton with my wife and two children for my work at the end of 2003. I am a passionate sportsperson and enjoyed many years playing rugby and cricket, and participating in half ironman triathlons. More recently, I enjoy jogging with my wife and playing golf with my friends and my son. I love to travel both in New Zealand and overseas, and enjoy experiencing different cultures. My goals for the future include building and maintaining the growth of Cairnwood Hire in the Waikato and throughout New Zealand, while continuing to provide outstanding service and quality equipment. Reducing my golfing handicap would also be a bonus but seems unlikely. Justin Orton – Operations / Marquee InstallerJustin is a vital link at the heart of all the field work within our company who joined our team in October 2011. Justin has a major role in the operational and logistics area of the business … from transporting, managing the field staff and erecting our marquees from event to event. With several years experience in the marquee field Justin is one of the best in the industry. Justin lives locally in Hamilton, although you will know doubt catch up with him at the set up of your special event or around the country at our major shows and festivals. Andy Webb – Storeman / Marquee InstallerBased at our warehouse in Matangi, Andy looks after the repairs, maintenance, cleaning, stock levels, organising, deliveries and returns of all our products. You will also catch up with Andy as he is out and about in town and all over the country in our delivery truck. Donna Neville – Accounts / SalesThe newest addition to the Cairnwood Hire team is Donna who joined us in October 2011. Donna is responsible for looking after all our accounts, the rental of our boardroom, general administration and all our wonderful clients that come to visit our showroom. Helping out the sales team, Donna would like to see all our clients have excellent customer service and a stress free hire experience with a smile. John Keenan – Operations, X-Site ManagementWith Hamish, and X-Site’s vast array of industry partners, John travels to all events and exhibitions as required, often taking a lead role (and doing most of the work!!!!!), so get used to seeing the silver haired pom around the country, you’ll hear his jovial chuckle and see his warm smile wherever you see an X-Site ute. |
